Privacy Policy

Cortex Agency, a design studio based in Douala (Cameroon), is responsible for processing the personal data collected via the Tara Card site and app (the "Service"). For any question relating to your data, contact us at info@taracard.cc or via our Contact page.

Depending on your use of the Service, we collect:

• Account data: name and email address transmitted by Google or Apple when signing in.
• Order and engraving data: first name, last name, gender (optional), phone number(s), email, individual/business status, company name and logo, Google Maps link, profile photo, website and social media handles.
• Delivery data: neighborhood, city, address details, courier contact number, delivery instructions.
• Payment data: chosen operator (Orange Money or Mobile Money) and phone number associated with the transaction. We do not collect or store any complete banking data: the transaction is processed directly by the operator.
• Shop and document data: products you publish (name, price, description, photo) and documents you save in your card's vault, for plans that include access to them.
• Interaction statistics: number of views and clicks on a card's public profile (socials, website, products, cash-in), recorded anonymously, without identifying the visitor.
• Support data: content of messages sent via our contact form or issue reports on an order.

• Create and secure your account;
• Manufacture and personalize your NFC card according to the information you provided;
• Process your order, payment and delivery;
• Track your order and handle any issue reports;
• Provide the online shop and cloud document storage features, and manage the associated subscription;
• Respond to your requests via our contact form;
• Improve the Service and produce aggregated, anonymized statistics.

The processing described above is based on the performance of the contract between you and Cortex Agency (order processing, delivery, payment, shop and documents, customer service), on your consent (optional communications), and on our legitimate interest in securing the Service and preventing fraud.

Your data may be shared, to the extent strictly necessary, with:

• Google and Apple authentication providers, for signing in to your account;
• Orange Money and Mobile Money operators, for processing your payment;
• Our manufacturing workshop and delivery provider, for producing and shipping your card;
• Any competent authority if required by Cameroonian law.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.

Data linked to your account is kept for as long as it remains active. Order data is kept for as long as necessary to process the order, provide after-sales service and comply with our accounting and tax obligations, then archived or deleted in accordance with the legal deadlines applicable in Cameroon.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or alteration. As no transmission over the Internet is entirely risk-free, however, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In accordance with Cameroonian law No. 2010/012 on cybersecurity and cybercrime and international best practices on data protection, you have the following rights:

• Right of access to your personal data;
• Right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Right to erasure, within the limits of our legal retention obligations;
• Right to object and to withdraw consent for processing that depends on it;
• Right to portability of the data you have provided to us.

To exercise these rights, contact us via our Contact page. We respond to all requests within a reasonable time and may ask you to prove your identity.

The Service uses technical identifiers strictly necessary for its operation (maintaining your session, remembering your preferences). We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Your browser lets you configure the management of these elements at any time.

The Service is intended for adults or persons with the legal capacity to contract. We do not knowingly collect data concerning minors without the consent of their legal representative.

Your data may be hosted or processed by technical providers located outside Cameroon, as part of providing the Service (hosting, authentication). We ensure that these providers offer adequate protection guarantees.

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect legal, technical or functional changes to the Service. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
